Privacy Policy

Working draft, matched to exactly what the current build of Reach does. Nothing below is placeholder filler, but have it reviewed by counsel before it goes live given the Screen Time data involved.

The short version

Reach doesn't have a server. There's no account, no login, and nothing about your circle, your activity, or your screen habits is transmitted anywhere. Everything Reach knows about you lives in a local database on your own device, and disappears when you delete the app. The one exception is payment: if you subscribe to Reach Pro, purchase details are handled by RevenueCat, described below.

Information Reach stores on your device

Your circle. Names or initials and any notes you type in yourself. Reach never reads your phone's contacts.
Screen-time signals. Using Android's usage-access permission or iOS's Family Controls/Screen Time APIs, Reach watches only the specific apps you choose to monitor, purely to measure how long you've spent in them against the threshold you set. This is elapsed time, not scroll or keystroke tracking, and it never leaves your device or gets shared with us or anyone else.
Activity & interrupt history. Reaches you've logged, minutes redirected, and streaks, kept in an on-device database.
Settings. Quiet hours, monitored apps, scroll threshold, and suggestion mix. All local.

Payments

Reach Pro purchases are processed by Apple, Google, and our subscription platform, RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives a device identifier and purchase/receipt information solely to confirm your entitlement to Pro features. It never receives your circle, activity, or usage data. What Reach doesn't do

No advertising or ad networks
No analytics or tracking SDKs
No account creation, no email collection
No selling or sharing of personal data, because there's no server for it to sit on

Permissions, and why

Usage access (Android) / Family Controls (iOS). Required to detect time spent in the apps you pick. This is the entire mechanism the app is built around.
Notifications. Used to deliver the interrupt itself when your threshold is crossed.
Foreground service (Android). Keeps monitoring running reliably while the app isn't in the foreground.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling Reach removes everything stored locally: your circle, your history, your settings. If you've subscribed to Reach Pro, canceling is handled through your App Store or Play Store account, separately from anything stored in the app.

Children

Reach is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. Since all data stays on-device, there's no collection to speak of either way.

Changes to this policy

If what Reach collects or does changes, this page will change with it, and the date at the top will be updated.
